Biography:

Spanish violist Ana Mba completed her Master degree under Professor Tabea Zimmermann in 2016. She studied with Professor Ashan Pillai at the “Escola Superior de Música de Catalunya”, with Professor Ulrich Knörzer at the “Universität der Künste” in Berlin, and with Professor Pauline Sachse at the “Hochschule für Musik Hanns Eisler” Berlin.

She has been awarded in competitions such as, 1. Prize “Entre Cuerdas y Metales” (2007), 1. Prize “Ciudad de Murcia” (2009), 1. Prize “Concours Franco-Ibérique des Jeunes Altistes” (Perpignan, 2012) and “Bari International Music Festival Price” (Bari, 2013).

Her orchestral experience has been developed with orchestras such as Gustav Mahler Jugendorchester, Schleswig-Holstein Orchestral Academy, Youth Orchestra of Spain, Rundfunk Sinfonie- Orchester Berlin, Deutsche Kammerorchester Berlin, National Orchestra of Spain and Deutsche Oper Berlin, participating in tours through Europe and the USA.

She has been awarded with scholarships by various foundations, such as “Alexander von Humboldt Stiftung Foundation”, (Berlin, 2012), “Juventudes Musicales de Madrid”, (Madrid, 2014), and “Galindo Foundation” (Murcia, 2013-2015).

She is currently a permanent member of the “Orquesta de la Comunidad Valenciana”, at the Palau de les Arts Reina Sofía. She has collaborated as viola solo in “Orquesta Sinfónica de la Región de Murcia” and “Gran Teatre del Liceu de Barcelona”.
