Biography:
Born in Seoul, Korea in 1990, Kyoungmin Park began playing the violin and piano at age of 6, switching to viola four years later.
She moved to Austria in 2003, and for five years studied with Ulrich Schoenauer at the University of Music and Performing Arts in Vienna. She then transferred to the College of Music Hanns Eisler in Berlin in 2008 studied with Walter Kuessner and since 2010 Tabea Zimmermann. She has also attended master classes by Nobuko Imai, Nils Moenkemeyer, Wilfried Strehle, Eberhard Feltz, Hartmut Rohde.
Kyoungmin has won numerous competitions and prizes including the second prize and public prize at the Munich ARD Competition in 2013, the third and special prize at Markneukirchen International Competition in Germany and the second prize at the Lionel Tertis International Viola Competition in Isle of man, Britain in 2010.
She has appeared as soloist with important orchestras including the Bavarian Radio Symphony Orchestra, the Romanian Radio National Orchestra, the Gyeonggi Philharmonic Orchestra and the Korea Symphony Orchestra, the Polish Chamber Orchestra, the Baden-Baden Philharmonic Orchestra, Hamburg Festival Orchestra, the Academic Symphony Orchestra Munich and Staatsorchester Braunschweig, Brandenburgisches Staatstheater.
In 2015, Kyoungmin Park was accepted into the Sponsorship Programme of the Orpheum Foundation for the Advancement of Young Soloists. This also featured a performance tour in Merano Italy and in Locarno, the Zurich Tonhalle Switzerland together with the Vienna Symphony Orchestra with Nikolaj Znaider and under the baton of Philippe Jordan.
Her engagements in Europe and Asia include concerto and recital appearanced and debut in 2016 and also in 2017/18 at the Great Mountains Music Festival in PyeongChang, Korea, led by Myung-Wha Chung and Kyung-Wha Chung.
Kyoungmin Park is a member of Berlin Philharmonic Orchestra since 2018.
